Subject: US dining (was Bologna)
Debbie, Gail, Ira,Lou...and I am sure a lot of you out there,

it is reassuring that we agree in our need to enjoy some of the good basic things that makes life worth it... leisure moments with friends over a good meal, sharing and laughing together , talking about the simples things such as to grow the food we eat,or how to cook it ( Debbie: I am with you I like to cook) these might be simple things but I guess we all feel a need to stay attached to Mother Earth and to values not ruled by some one else interest...

...Personally I do not need the glossy magazines or the travel section of newspapers to tell us what to eat,or where to go ...unless they are written by people who really understand our needs ( very rarely). I confess that sometimes I succumb following such kind of advise to regret it most of the times...

I read some place that while Frenchmen meet in cafes , Americans meet in Malls, and it made me very sad...I know it is not true for everyone of us, but to have seen that remark in black and white really hurts me.

I am American and I do not buy that. And I am happy to see that lots of you agree. It is a good thing to find friends to exchange these ideas, even though we cannot do in front of a grappa, or an orujo, or a dreamy Italian cappuccino... well may be the next GTG is not that far....Graziella Miami Beach.
