Subject: Introduction
Hello everyone, I believe I've never properly introduced myself. Therefore...

I've been a member of the group since one year and post messages mainly on France, the country where I now live. I'm a Dutch native who in '77 went to the States for graduate school and remained there for almost 20 years. In my Dutch years I travelled throughout Western Europe, from the Scottish Highlands to Spain's Costa de la Luz, always camping, backpacking, hiking, low budget. In my US years my travels were short and far between (work, work). In '90 I chucked it all and bought myself a 37-foot sailboat, sailing it down from Boston to the Caribbean. For 2 1/2 years we hopped the islands, from the Virgins to Margarita, off Venezuela. Since '97 I live permanently dans la campagne, outside a small village in Provence, 12 miles north of Saint-Tropez. The last few years my travels are mainly restricted to Provence. There's still so much to discover here. Sometimes I'm hired as a private guide and driver (those narrow country roads!) for American tourists and need to expand my repertoire. The new discoveries also end up in the website on Provence (see below) and my novel(s). Any questions on Provence or the Caribbean (the memories are still fresh) I'll be happy to try to answer.
