Subject: Driving holiday in the Dolomites
Hi all, I think that our May holiday is changing every day. On a first moment, we were thinking of splitting 10 days between Rome and Florence, and do some day trips. But today, my sister has decided that after all, we can always go to Rome for a long weekend, and maybe we should go back to the Dolomites, and not stay for a long time in Rome. In all our previous trips we drove all the way from Spain, but this time we will be flying into Italy. We are thinking of going for a couple of weeks, and maybe fly into Rome, go by train to Florence and stay there for a couple of days, and afterwards travel north, also by train, and pick up a rental car at some easy place (I donīt think we are ready to drive from Rome, a bit too much, although she says that it cannot be worse than Lisbon in August ... ).

I was thinking of picking up the car in Verona, but we are open to suggestions. Our idea would be to travel up to Trento and Bolzano, and then get into Val Gardena. Afterwards, it will depend on the weather. We want to do some easy hiking, near the Pordoi pass, Falzarego, probably the Tre Cime of Lavaredo ... a coming back trip after all.

I would really thank any idea about where to get the rental car. Also, we can fly direct into Milan from Bilbao, probably it would be easier (but I really, really need at least two days in Rome. I have to get back there).

Kind regards, Covadonga in Bilbao (Spain)
