Subject: Re: Palm Pilot Travel Guides
Vindigo is fun, but just the tip of the iceberg. You'll be a PDA software junkie in no time! Palm.com's software collection is huge-- some free/shareware, other for purchase. Like Lonely Planet, almost every travel-oriented site has PDA/WAP-supported goodies to download-- Orbitz, Expedia, Frommers, Fodors, Michelin (http://www.viamichelin.com), etc. Run a google search for destination-specific PDA-supported guides. You can pre-load maps (I like mapquest, mappy.com for Europe) and airline schedules (check oag.com for schedules for all carriers servicing a particular route, your preferred airline to download the timetables for the entire route system), a currency converter (oanda.com), and of course, your itinerary, passport and credit card data, insurance info, etc. With all that plus your own synched calendar, address book, expense ledger and room to make trip notes, you won't leave home without it! Have fun.
