Subject: RE: Italy Hill Towns- Questions
Donna, I don't know about renting a car in Italy (I had my own car), but I'd like to make a suggestion. If you do rent a car, then I'd suggest visiting a town not too far (about a half hour) from Orvieto, called Civita di Bagnoregio (pronounced CHIV-vee-tah dee Ban-yo-RAY-joe). It's a tiny town built right on a hill which you can only get to by crossing a 100-meter foot bridge. It's surrounded by emptiness, but there's a great view from the town of the surrounding landscape. There are no cars in Civita, and the town is so small that it can be seen in 15 minutes, but it's a lovely little town and worth a visit if you're in the area.
