|Subject: 6 weeks backpacking in Europe|
welcome to the group, first of all.
You have a really ambicious plan. I hope you are able to see everything you
want. But I am not sure about it.
You are talking about 18 days in Spain/Portugal or along the Mediterranean
Coast, and then you are thinking of 4 days in Switzerland before heading for
Central Europe. If you were in Greece, you would be backtracking to get back
to Switzerland, and then head to Munich and the rest of your trip. It´s
kind of a zig-zag trip.
I´m not an expert in this kind of trips, but I am thinking of something off the beaten track such as : - Arrive to Madrid. - Travel to Lisbon and from there, along the portuguese coast up to Galicia (Santiago de Compostela and the Rias Bajas). - Travel along the northern coast of Spain (Asturias, Cantabria, Basque Country), and reach Pamplona (if it could be on time for Sanfermines, better). - Go to Barcelona and from there into northern Italy. - From Venice, head into Slovenia and Croatia. Replace Switzerland and the greek isles for the slovenian lakes and the dalmatian coast (Duvrovnik is still amazing). - From there, up north to Vienna via Zagreb, and then go to Budapest. If you have time, a detour to the Slovak Tatras. If not, up to Prague. - From Prague, lots of day trips, and back to Munich
Ok, I have left out Switzerland, but I have added a couple of interesting places. What do you think?
Kind regards, Covadonga in Bilbao (Spain)
