|Subject: Borghese Gallery and Rome Dining|
I am in agreement with Don and Linda that the two hour visit to the Borghese was adequate to enjoy the offerings. The notable sculptures are all set in such a way that it is easy to find and savor them.
The Galleria Borghese is a small and sumptuous jewel that you will really enjoy. We spent the next two hours in the park and had a wonderful time. Exploring the Villa Borghese park was something I had never done, despite three previous visits to Rome. We were very happy with our late afternoon ramble, which led us back into the heart of the city at just about dinner time, which I guess means that we were in the park for more than two hours.
Our dinner that night was at IL Giardino, which we enjoyed very much. We have been recommending it since our September 2001 visit to Rome. You can ask to book the garden room, which was lovely. The taglietelle al limone was the most memorable pasta dish of our 16 day journey through Italy.
