Subject: airfare advice
Hi Becca: I have noticed that the further out you go the higher the airfare. I guess the theory employed by the airlines is too see how many people will book at the higher rates that far in advance. As it gets closer, then the demand or lack of it will determine the price, often lower. Jan and I often disagree on airfares. Her theory is book it now and be assured of the seats. My theory is wait and benefit from the price drop. She usually wins and I kick myself while walking around the house muttering we should have waited. However, to her credit, we have gotten seats on packed aircraft. I think it's one of those annoying decisions, i.e., stability (pay early and get the seat) vs. chance (wait for the price drop and take a risk). Good luck. Tom
