We found some excellent restaurants in Venice, when there at Easter about
three years ago.
One, rather formal and upper pricing admittedly, but great theatre, was
Locanda Fiore. Others were less expensive and equally good, in their own
particular ways. Alas the dbristoranti site seems to have gone to God,
and my files are in storage, so I can't give you the names of the others. If
they surface in my memory or elsewhere, I will pass them on to you.
The other special delight in Venice is the practice of visiting several
different bars en route to dinner and taking a very small aperitivo at
each - there is a special sized glass for this purpose. In the good wine
bars, there are wine tastings and your drink will be accompanied by
delicious nibbles of local delicacies. Look out for them. It is a treat.
