Hi Kathleen
Your question has taken me back to my childhood! We spent many happy
holidays on the Isle of Man travelling by ferryboat from Liverpool in the
50s and early 60s (our car would be lifted onto the ferry by a crane!) We
always stayed in Port Erin or Castletown and I don't think they are too much
different now. You can travel around the island easily and as long as you
avoid the TT races when the island is taken over by motorbike enthusiasts it
remains a pretty and restful place. Look out for Manx kippers and cats with
no tails!
