Just back from a quick trip to Paris, Paolo, during which I spent more time
in a car than usual ( a friend who lives there was driving - NOT ME!).
We have driven into and out of Paris a few times - once you get close to the
city, it's hard to find a time when the peripheriques (ring roads) are not
quite busy. Most residents strive to avoid them if possible.
I'd just echo the usual warning against driving in the city - I still think
a car is a handicap, mostly due to parking challenges, but also due to the
city traffic. I'm sure you're well aware of that since you live in a city as
well.
Happy travels-
