Some hostels have lockers available; you provide your own lock to put on it. Others have a locked baggage storeroom only the warden (yes, that's what a hostel manager is called!) can open. An email or call to the hostel in question should give the answer I think. Everyone is a little jumpier about luggage lying around these days!
