I spent a week at the SeaView House in Doolin. It was fine. There is a slight view of the sea but it is (not good on distances) maybe 1/2 to a mile away. But it's still a great place to stay. The breakfasts are very good & the rooms adequate. My bed was a bit uncomfortable, really thin mattress but everything was very clean. The house is quite new, about 5 or 6 years old. It is on a hill overlooking O'Conner pub where there's great food & lots of traditional Irish music. The other 2 pubs in Doolin are about a mile away. I found O'Conner's the best for food &great for music. Other 2 were good for music, too. Be sure to drive through the Burren &to the Cliffs of Moher. Spectacular!
>From Dun Laoghaire you could spend a day in Glendalough which hass a very, very old religious community, about 5th century, I think. Worth a look.
Hope you have a great time. Carol Bailey Madras, Oregon
