|Subject: Re: Canal St. Michel|
I took the tour boat years ago and I don't remember
exactly how long the tour was--somewhere around 2 - 2 1/2 hours. The boat
will go underground at the Bastille and you could see the it from the
opening holes directly on top of your head. The underground journey will
take about 30 minutes. During the tour, they will tell you a body of a woman
was found in pieces kept in a wooden box when they cleaned the canal many
many years ago.
Anyway, the tour will take lot of time because the boat needs to wait for the water to level up at the canals in order to proceed. Each canal will take about 20 minutes and there are about 3 or 4 or more of them. It will be a nice and relax ride with nice view of the treelined streets along the canal. I don't think the children would have patience during the ride. You will enjoy the ride better during the summer or on sunny days.
