No help for you on your subject places, but I want to tell you of a great
attraction near them. It is Monument Valley that is located north of
Kayenta, AZ on #163 and west of Shiprock, NM. John Wayne did a few westerns
there, but there is no trace of the movies. Just huge mesas sticking up from
a flat basin. To me it is the reverse of the Grand Canyon. Try to see it at
dawn and from sunset to dusk. Spectacular beauty.
