|Subject: One week in Portugal in May|
For our short stay in Portugal, we plan a Lisboa arrival where we
pick up rental car from TELEVAN, a company whose website I discovered
with great rates! They are cheaper than AutoEurope, and include CDW,
unlimited miles , 3rd party insurance and 24 H road assistance.
Optional is personal accident insurance and additional driver.
Rates...3 days... for Peugeot 206 XR 1.1 with 5 doors is 97.21 euros
plus the 17% VAT....113.80 euros. Pretty good I would say.
If you rent for 3 days or more they offer free pickup/delivery in
Lisbon, Cascais, Estoril.
We are immediately hoofing over to Evora where we spend our first night at the Solar Monfalim. Then we explore north west area of Nazare, Obidos, but have not made reservations for the next two nights. Drop off rental at airport and public transportation into Lisboa where we made reservations for last three nights at the Metropole. We might cancel one night and try something less expensive just for the experience. But this is tentative.
I printed out Don and Linda's suggestions and also have done alot of research on the internet for dining info. But we love all foods and are adventurous eaters. Would love some suggestions for some terrific seafood experiences. I have discovered that Portugal is known for its potatoes and tomatoes. YUM>
