|Subject: Re: Debbie's UK trip|
My health has not been the best of late and I have been on 'No Mail' so I am probably coming in on the tail end of this thread and I more than likely will not be of much help. I would like to make a suggestion, however, and I do apologise if this information has been offered by someone else on the list. I have a relative/friend who lives in Tonbridge, Kent, and he has often invited my wife and I to come over and visit. Because we have been forced to scrap all our travel plans, he has once again invited us over to spend some time in Kent, to recuperate, so to speak. He does make it sound good with all the lovely gardens and other attractions so close-by. Rather than spend all your time in London, why not take the train to Tonbridge and spend a week looking round Kent. Because he knows that we will not want to put him to any trouble, as the cottage in which he lives is very small, he has suggested a B&B to stay in - Lodge Oast, just out of Tonbridge - http://www.s-h-systems.co.uk/hotels/lodgeoast.html I must admit that we are seriously considering going to Kent, sometime in September, 2002. The rest of your time could be spent in Somerset, visiting Bath, Bradford-on-Avon, Castle Combe, Lacock and Biddestone. Just thought you may be interested.
