Subject: Prague over 5 days of Memorial Day holiday
Hello all,

It's travel time again and this time it's Prague. I'm meeting a couple of friends there, and we have reserved an apartment that the US Embassy in Prague rents out to State Dept. employees. So lodging is taken care of. But what sort of activities would be fun for the 5 days at the end of May? Beer drinking is high on our list, museums are probably low. What sort of interesting neighborhoods are there, where can wander, sit and drink coffee outdoors, stroll through parks, see interesting people, etc? Being frugal is important, although ideas of good markets and interesting restaurants would be appreciated.

Anyone else going to be in Prague that weekend?

Also, this will be the first time I travel to a country where I do NOT speak the language. How much basics should I try and learn? Do folks there speak many other languages like in other European cities? I listened to some Cezch on the Internet, and the sounds were so difficult!
