Subject: telephone cards in Italy
Hello Most public phones (99%) are operated by Telecom Italia. You buy a phone card with magnetic band, insert it into the slot on the phone and call. Your credit is displayed on the visor; English instrucions are available. Apart from Telecom cards, others are sold but they work like in the US, i.e. you dial a toll-free number, insert the code printed on the card and then you place your call. At airports I've also seen credit-cards operating phones. Bye Paolo Trieste, Italy
