Subject: Re: Have you driven in the UK? |
Hi all,
>From our personal experence (my husband and I), the challenge of driving in UK was not driving on the left-side of the road, that was never a problem. The real challenge was the driver sitting on the right-side of the car to drive. As a result of this, two easy tasks turned into big challenges: 1)Looking out toward the left hand side, had no idea if our car's left-outside mirror (the passenger's side) could clear the parked cars on the road without scrapping it. 2)Pulled into a parking lot, there was a space for one car in a row of cars, but we could not maneuver into it. We needed to park at the end of the row, where there were no cars around us. Needless to say, I admire people who can switch driver's sides as easily as if they switch from chopsticks to forks. :-) Mei-Ching Tzeng (north of Boston) |
