Subject: Re: Chartres guided tour
Hi Paolo...

We just returned from two weeks in France and actually took Malcomb Miller's tour at Chartres. He gives an interesting tour...twice a day except on Sunday. They are at noon and 2:30...you just gather in the narthex next to the gift shop. He did his PhD thesis on Chartres Cathedral over 40 years ago and has been involved there ever since. He travels the world giving lectures (in fact he had just been to the National Cathedral in Washington, DC....where we are from...) The tour was great for us since we do not speak French and always try to get an English tour. Some focus is on the stained glass windows...he does different ones each tour of the day so people can repeat if they like. I wish it had been longer. Price was 10 Euros...

He did not mention the labarynth which we went back to find because of literature about it in the gift shop. There are chairs set up on it at the back of the nave, so it's hard to see!
