I was in Italy a couple of years ago and used a phone card quite extensively to call back to Canada. Can't remember the name of the card. Just picked mine at local tobacco shops. They come in different values and depending on where you are, different suppliers. My experience was excellent. Great value for the money compared to any other alternative. I experienced my share of frustrations with calls not going thru etc. and did not get full value for each card however the cards more than paid for themselves--even with some wastage. Depending on where you are you may need a local card as well to access the international number from a pay phone. Got great help from local folk whenever I ran into trouble. Someone always had the right local card in their pocket to bail me out. Art In Vancouver, BC
