In Nice avoid the Hotel de Flore. Not sound proofed rooms, not renovated until 1999 (although they told the opposite - but I'm not sure since then), very bad service. The window in my room could not close, it was cold and I asked 3 times to be repaired without effect. Finally the hotel general manager (!!!!) came and repaired it after I have complained to him (!!!!!)

If you want a luxury stay, the hotel Negresco is ideal. Go to that hotel even for a dinner. Their kitchen is recommended by many French restaurant guides.
