Subject: RE: Cinque Terre
We stayed at the Nuova Riviera in Santa Margherita Ligure on the coast between Rappallo and Portofino. Not exactly in Cinque Terre, but easily accessible by train. Less than an hour, if my memory is still intact. An added benefit is that it's only a 10 minute bus ride to Portofino. There's supposedly a good walk instead of the bus, but it was raining that day, so the bus was first choice. Santa Margherita is also very nice to visit. I've heard good things about Rappallo, though we didn't have time to get there.

The Sabini family runs the Nuova Riveria, and they are some of the warmest, most hospitable anywhere. Simple, clean accommodations, with good home cooked dinners available. Their web site: Have a good trip- -steve
