Indeed Robuchon closed the restaurant door behind him. It was something he always announced he would do when he turned fifty. Now he owns and is actively involved with a 24-h TV channel (on satellite), Gourmet TV, where, for instance, you can watch interviews with famous *** chefs, interspersed with recipes cooked by these chefs together with Robuchon. I've never eaten at Robuchon, or Jamin, but can tell by the minute details and careful mastery of this gourmet cooking that it must have been a wonderful experience for you and why he is considered the greatest living chef. It certainly has inspired me to go for the best ingredients, preferring quality over quantity, and still stay within budget.
