Subject: Re: Where to retire?
St. George is beautiful with red sandstone mountains. It can get a little hot but it's dry heat like Las Vegas (where we live). The cooler temperatures are a short 1 hr drive up to Pine Valley. Zion Park is near by. Why have you chosen St. George? Now, to the more difficult question about radiation. In the 50's, when NTS did above ground testing and the winds blow toward St. George many of the residence got cancer. I don't remember if it was ever proven it came from the Nevada Test Site or if anyone ended up with compensation from the government. I would think now the danger would be very low. Are you interested in genealogy? There is a Family History Center in this quaint small town.
