|Subject: Never say Never ride a Balloon|
When my wife and I were in Psalm Springs, during a bus trip in 1996, a balloon ride was offered as an optional extra. Rachel wanted to 'have a go' but as I am generally terrified of heights I was not interested. Rachel kept at me and at me and finally I weakened.
At first I kept to the middle of the basket, but finally I ventured to the edge. To cut a long story short, I am now 'hooked' on balloon flights and we try and take a flight where-ever we travel. Don't get me wrong, I am still terrified of heights but the excitement of the proposed flight overrides the fear.
We hope to take one in either the Peak District or North Wales during our upcoming UK trip in September this year.
Something similar happened to us concerning a helicopter flight into the Grand Canyon. I now much prefer helicopters to a fixed wing plane.
