|Subject: R: Lightweight Digital Cameras|
I did a deep research on digital cameras a few months ago, and the best for my needs was Nikon Coolpix 775, having good features and being not too expensive. I use it since December and I am satisfied about it. I would say 2 Megapixels are enough, more just for professional needs. I have great quality pix and always resize since they are also big (in size, not only in bytes). On the other hand I would spend a bit more on zoom (optical zoom, not digital: this is pretty uneuseful), it should be at least 3x. Then lens quality: no doubt Nikon has the best, while Hewlett-Packard, Epson, Kodak, have some cheaper quality. Canon and Olympus are also pretty good.
Hope this helps. Ciao Flavio in Rome
Mod's note: OK Flavio - no excuse not to take pix at your GTG with Johannes and Sonja!
