Subject: Re: Paris surroundings |
Dear Paolo, I have in from of me the brochure from Vaux although it does
say that the visits to the chateau are from 10 to 18 hrs.
We went for the Water Games and only paid the regular ticket but of course they take place between 3 PM to 6PM. This is what it says regarding the candlelight visit: Every Saturday from 4 MAy to 12 October, plus banck holidays: wednesday 8 May and SUnday 19 May 2002, from 8 PM to midnight( last admission at 11PM) Regarding the Candlelight visits, it also reads: On candlelight evenings, after the sun set, 2000 candles are lighted within the chateau and the garden. THis lightfull extravaganza, combined with the sounds of classical music, will send you back in time to the splendid feast organized by Fouquet in honour of Louis XIV on August 17,1661. In the garden , at the grille d'eau, visitors can lie down in deck chairs and listen the classical music, watching the chateau and garden illimuniated by candles. Magic! I guess yo can ask them by e mail at chateau@ vaux-le-vicompte.com (close the space) Please let us know how did it work for you. Have a great time. Graziella, Miami Beach |
