Hi Marta &George - and Charles, Daniel, etc.
Here's a web site for the Little Italy area: http://makeashorterlink.com/?X5DA21001
It's difficult to get a bad meal anywhere in the area. The two places we would especially recommend are:
Bar Italia, very casual, limited menu, delicious food. Tends to get noisy at peak hours.
Trattoria Giancarlo, reservations are a must. Excellent food, a most enjoyable dining experience. Jacket and tie not required nor necessary.
Danforth Avenue (The Danforth) is the place to go for Greek food:
Ouzerie 500 Danforth Ave., Toronto - excellent selection of mezethes.
Athens Pastries 509 Danforth Avenue - tiropita, spankopita, galactobouriko, etc.
Here are a couple of restaurants you can count on for a good meal:
http://www.avlirestaurant.com/ always gets good reviews.
http://www.ampeli.ca/ got a recent great write-up, especially for the roast lamb.
And if you feel like Chinese food: Lee Garden, 331 Spadina Avenue House of Gourmet, 484 Dundas St. West
Remember that the 15% that is added to all menu prices represents the taxes. In addition, a tip of 15-20% is expected.
Hope that helps.
Cheers! Don and Linda
