|Subject: Beaune, FR (Was: Tuscany Bound)|
I cannot resist telling you how much you are going to love Beaune in October. A couple of years ago, a friend and I were there the first of November, and it was a wonderland of chrysanthemums covering all the lamp posts, potted on every possible place to set a plant as well as all the flower beds and traffic circles, in the most imaginable color combinations. I had never seen anything like it. I later read that the national government sponsors a competition to see which cities can make themselves the most beautiful. Beaune surely must have won the prize. I'm sure you will find it much the same in October since that is definitely mum time.
Lou (Lakeway, TX) Just returned from France and too jet-lagged for a travelogue at this point.
