Subject: New Italian rules of the road |
Hi Sandy,
It is better to keep Italian road laws in mind, otherwise it can
become a very expensive experience!
On the other hand I love and have learnt a lot from the charming Italian creativity on how to apply rules. Coming from a country with a more rigid mentatlity this was a lesson for my lifetime. Although you sometimes might think there are no rules, be sure: they are there! When we were car driving in the Naples area a few weeks ago we found that it was easy after we got used to it for a few minutes. In Germany for example we have much more traffic lights in cities. You have to stop every 200 meters. In Italy there were much less of them and traffic worked even better, because the drivers were attent, polite and considerate.
