|Subject: Fourth of July|
While the celebrations in the States occur in one way or another, mostly with fireworks where we have been living or on vacation, the most interesting one was when we were in Geneva, Switzerland several years ago.
The University of South Carolina Symphonic Band was on tour in Europe and they were in Geneva for the Fourth. Because Ray had played in the Marching Band a few years before that, we knew a lot of people in the band, including the director, and were invited to join in the reception at the home of the US Ambassador to the United Nations.
As did you experience, the food and beverages consisted of American brands. I remember potato chips, beer, hot dogs and cokes. After that, there were additional celebrations and attractions where parachuters, for one, landed in an nearby area.
