Subject: RE: Greek Islands?
Dear Frances,

As for the Greek Islands, there are quite a few of them and most of them have historical importance or sites to visit. However if you can, please avoid the high season, because at the moment the Greek Islands, and specifically Rhodes and Crete are becoming the new Ibiza with lots of rowdy behaviour. I was in Greece about 11 years ago and I visited Athens and from the harbour of Athens, Piraeus, we took a boat trip around several islands, which were not touristic at all, but definitely worth a visit.

I can understand Florence, Rome, and Venice being on the list, because all three cities are beautiful. In France apart from Paris, I can certainly recommend Perpignan in the South (with easy access to the Pyrenees), or anywhere on the west coast of France above Bordeaux.

Happy planning.
