Sorry to hear of your misfortune. I have heard of similar stories and will keep in mind that visible luggage is ripe for theft. I am very paranoid about this kind of loss but it could happen in the US as well.

I have gotten many responses on what size of vehicle to rent that will fit 4 wheeled travel bags (size that the airline attendants use) but I am still looking for an actual car brand and model that some one has used and can speak from experience.

It looks like a station wagon would be best based on Mary's experience but what make of car has one that would fit this plus 4 people comfortably?
