Subject: Re: Torino, Piemonte, Asti, Alba, etc.
Ciao Callie,

Piemonte is a pretty nice region, for wine testing too :))

Rather than Asti, I'd prefer stay in Alba. Alba is a lovely town with a medieval downtown. Alba is well known for it truffle festival october (we had a wonderful gtg in Alba a few years ago!). From Alba you can make day trips to the wine area around (le Langhe region), Dogliani, La Morra, Barolo, Barbaresco that are lovely hill towns too.

Moreover you can visit well known towns for cheese like Bra that is also the headquarter of Slow Food association.

Close to Piemonte you can get to Aosta region where there is a wonderful alps nat. park (Gran Paradiso) and there are lots of medieval castle on the way.

Have a look to http://www.enotecaregionaledelpiemonte.com/ http://www.regione.piemonte.it in the tourism section, If you know some italian, http://www.langhe.it/

Callie, let me know when we are going to Piemonte, may be we can arrange for a gtg.

Ciao, Marco in Milan - Italy (not far from Piemonte!).
