|Subject: London Accommodation|
Being from New Zealand I know how expensive accommodation in London can be. I have been there on two separate occasions. It is an excepted fact that London is one of the most expensive places to stay, especially the way that the current exchange rates are. I know that Earl's Court contain many budget hotels, but I understand that the area, especially at night, can leave a little to be desired. Sometimes you have to 'Bite the Bullet' and pay a little extra. I have a file on London, but most of the budget hotels are a little more than the hotel you are currently looking at in Earl's Court. The following B&B was recommended by someone from a different email list, and as you can see, it is some distance from Central London.
Try Iolanthe B&B, Wildwood Road, Hampstead Garden Suburb. Phone:+44 (0)20 84551417. Owners: Rosie and Simon Gill. It is bang on Hampstead Heath (leave the front yard, there you have it), and is about a mile walk from the Golders Green tube. There is a nice neighbourhood bus, but it stops at midnight - but it is a very safe area and I have walked home alone several times from the tube, late. I have stayed there twice. 25 pounds a night for a (small) single (September), 35 pounds for a double (3 years ago). Very nice home. It is a residence and they have 4 rooms to let. That area is posh, as they say. Website: http://www.iolanthe.co.uk/
If you want the names of budget hotels from my list, please ask and I will be happy to forward details.
