Patty... Cruises aren't for everyone but they ARE FOR
ME! I LLLOOOOVVVVEEEE cruises. NO complaints. First
of all, it's a chance to see a lot in a short period
of time. And it can give you an idea of places you
would want to go back to for a longer period of time.
Ie: My husband and I were going to spend a week in
Cozumel for our honeymoon, instead went on a 10 day
Caribbean cruise, visited Cozumel and decided that we
were happy we weren't there for a whole week! I mean,
don't get me wrong, it was beautiful but we found out
that we'd much rather spend a week in the Cayman
Cruising is very convenient. You don't have to pack, repack, waste precious vacation time flying or at the airport. No rental car hassles, checking in and out of hotels. It's actually much more cost effective because the food is included.
We have cruised on Royal Caribbean and on Holland America. I would recommend Royal Caribbean over Holland America. The newer ships are nicer, there is more to do for older teenagers (rock climbing walls, mini golf courses). It's just fantastic and I would recommend it anyday!
And from our experience, we were treated like Royalty on both cruise lines. We are anxious to take advantage of Seattle being home to Royal Caribbean, NCL and Holland America's Alaskan cruises.
Have fun. Kim, in Seattle
