Jim in Redmond WA just recommended hotels.com, and I have to tell you that my brother called me from San Francisco this morning to thank me for telling him about hotels.com and abouthotel.com (which I heard about through Vanessa here on the Zine). He likes the Powell hotel, it hardly cost anything, and when he called hotels.com and asked to extend his stay at the discount price, they immediately took care of it in a speedy and friendly way. This saved him $20.00 a night over the price the hotel itself offered.
He does NOT have anything nice to say about Continental Airlines, however. They were rude, bumped him off his original flight, and wouldn't put him at the top of the standby list for the next flight. They didn't even want to put him on the next flight until he really had to push and fuss and threaten and cajole.
