Subject: Laptop use outside North America
Hi John, Marghe and I have traveled most of the world with our laptop. We can't stand not being able to write to our grand children! Other members have given good, sage advise, but I would suggest you check out the www.teleadapt.com website. They will have everything you need. To protect your model do definitely get a teletester pro. I have had to replace it once, but I would rather have it smoked instead of my modem or my computer! Be sure you know how to remove your battery, as well as your hard drive. Airport security being what it is after 911 may require one or both. Removing your hard drive is a good idea anyway, saves losing or corupting files in the X-Ray machines currently being used. Cheers, Marty.
