|Subject: RE: ZINE Re: Malaria medication: was Vietnam practicalities|
Hello Timothy Leary:
Five of us used Lariam while crossing the Amazon from Manaus to La Paz three years ago. Two got confirmed cases of malaria. One was due to his failure to continue the Lariam after returning to the U.S. The second followed the recommended treatment, but she got malaria about nine months later. A third fellow developed the symptons, but his British doctors told him that the parasite was dead in his blood stream. The fourth of us believed in both Lariam and liberal use of garlic. Everything stayed away from him. As for me, I agree with Gail, I had spectacularly multicolored Hollywood production type dreams and I could remember every detail the next day, but no malaria.
