Subject: San Miguel de Allende and Querétaro
Hello Travelziners,

I'm just finishing up plans for a quick 6 day trip to the Bajío region of Mexico this November. Sara and I will be flying into Mexico City where we will spend one night at the Casa González. This family-run hotel just north of the Zona Rosa will afford us the opportunity to make a quick jaunt into the Zona Rosa for a meal at La Fonda Refugio, get a good night's rest, and then catch an early bus to Querétaro where we'll stay for two nights. My research for accommodations in Querétaro has been less than successful. So, we are going to play it by ear selecting a hotel/inn somewhere near the central plaza after arriving. The next two days will be spent exploring, dining, and shopping our way around this old colonial city.

Next, we'll hop a bus for the short trip to San Miguel de Allende. Our accommodations will be at the Casa Carmen. Once again we will spend two days exploring, dining and shopping in another one of Mexico's beautiful colonial towns. On our final day we'll be catching the bus back to Mexico City for a late afternoon flight home.

If any of you Ziners have some absolute must sees in either of these two locations, please, do tell. Keep in mind that we do not plan on renting a car (although that could change) and plan on focusing just on these two towns. Other close-by towns, such as Dolores Hidalgo and Guanajuato will be visited in a future trip in which we will be entering the Bajío by way of Guadalajara.

Thank-you, John in San Diego
