Subject: El Salvador and Honduras |
Hello again fellow travelers,
Well, while I'm in the questioning mode I thought I'd put the following out for the group to mull over. Next spring we're thinking of heading to Central America for about 10 days to 2 weeks. The idea is to fly into San Salvador, head straight south to La Libertad and the Pacific Coast, continue along the coast to the west towards the Bosque Imposible, north then, towards Lago Coatepeque and the three volcanoes that ring it; Cerro Verde, Santa Ana, and Izalco. While in the area we would visit the mountain towns of Apaneca and Juayúa before once again heading north to the Bosque Montecristo and the El Trifinio international biosphere on the border of El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras. Then, we head on into Honduras where we would confine ourselves to the Western Highlands and the Bay Islands in the Caribbean. Now, I know there are a few of you Ziners who have been to Honduras. So, tell me about it. Especially places outside of Copán and Roatán. As for El Salvador, which of you brave souls have ventured there? Will we be the first Ziners to tread into that part of the world? John in San Diego |
