Subject: Quebec City in October |
Dear Tom,
We were in Quebec City for the Labor Day weekend. We stayed at the Hotel
Dominion 1912 and can not say enough good things about it. The room we had
was comtemporary with a European flair with a big fluffy bed and pillows that
made us want to stay and relax, but then we'd miss the delicious breakfast
that comes with the hotel rate. It's located in the lower old city closer to
the port and antique shops. We did a lot of walking, took the funicular many
times to the upper old city, and actually got out beyond the walls once. I
highly recommend a fabulous restaurant, Le Saint Amour at 48 rue
Sainte-Ursule, Vieux- Quebec, 418-694-0667 http://www.saint-amour.com .
We had our best fancy meal there but you must have reservations and I would ask for the Winter Garden room. Also, the brunch in the Terrace room of the Hotel
Frontenac was lovely too. And near the hotel is the Restaurant L'Echaude, at
73 Sault Au Matelot.
If you have time, take the river cruise, it's only an hour or so and you get
a great history lesson to boot. Feel free to email me if you want more
information,
Have a great time, Rebbi Providence Rhode Island |
