Subject: Fly to Rome or Florence??
Greetings to all.

My goodness, these airline schedules are crazy. In trying to figure out where to fly into Italy, I am wondering if it would be easier and cheaper to fly to Rome than to Florence from the USA. Since I live on the west coast I will have to make a plane change on the east coast. My check of current airline schedules indicates that there are many more flights to Rome than Florence (non stop that is) from the East Coast.

What are your experiences? Is it worth trying to get directly to Florence? Or, should we spend a day and night in Rome, get over some of the jet lag, and then take the train to Florence?
