|Subject: Re: From Turkey to Greece|
Hi JoAnne, I hope your son is enjoying Istanbul.
Edirne is not an exciting place to visit. It has an historical mosque and that's it. Troy and Gallipoli are pretty close to each other and both of them have huge history behind them. Unfortunately there is not much to see at Troy. In Gallipoli, there is a memorial & museum where thousands of poople died after the first world war. Probably not much excitement for your son though. I would advise him to skip these three places unless he is fascinated by the WW-1 history.
Kusadasi and Ephesus is a 'must see'. However last week, a major storm hit the area and tours to Ephesus were cancelled for days and Kusadasi had huge problems. Hopefully, these problems might have been cleaned by now, but he may double check in advance.
One hot place I can advise is Bodrum (http://www.bodrum-info.org) Definetely the happening place in Turkey. He can take a ferry to many Greek islands directly from Bodrum.
Do not hesiate to e-mail me if you have specific questions.
