|Subject: Re: Discount Airfares - Have you ever really got one?|
Air price advertising is crafty at best, downright scamming at worst.
Rarely do the advertisers reveal the add-on costs of taxes, fees & weekend surcharges. Truly, a $398 rt airfare to Europe can have up to $100 in taxes & fees. Mexico is probably the worst: advertised fares to Cabo San Lucas may be posted at $278 rt, but the taxes & fees will add over $100! And my all-time fave: in huge print-$99 San Francisco to New York; & in the tiniest print possible-each way, based on a roundtrip purchase & subject to limited availability & taxes & fees.
They must think travelers are dolts. Hrmph.
