Subject: Re: Italy Guides
Like so many of you Travelziners, I'm in the middle of planning a trip to Italy next spring. Right now, I'm thinking about the desirability of hiring a day guide for a special, in-depth introduction at some of our stops. I'm not wild about huge bus tours and prefer a more personal approach. Do any of you have any thoughts on this? We'll be traveling from April 28 May 28 next year and will be in Venice, Florence, Rome, Assisi, Montepulciano, Castellina in Chianti, Santa Margherita Ligure and Bellagio/Como. Have any of you had experience with day guides and are there some you can recommend? I'm not wild about huge bus tours and prefer a more personal approach.
