Hi Andrew, There is a self service cafeteria upstairs at the international terminal,with reasonably good food at Rome airport, Fiumicino, also known as Da Vinci. I spent 10 hrs at Rome airport after KLM overbooked and sold the tickets under our noses,right while we were in line for the Rome Detroit flight on Sept 29th. I saw quite a bit of this particular airport before being rerouted out of AMS. Yes, since Sept 11th, most airports and train stations in Italy have stopped baggage deposit.Only the bus stations do that.Howver, the train station in Florence still accepts baggage for deposit.
