Subject: Berlin sights
Good morning Ziners; In response to Margo's comment about seeing the Jewish Museum in Berlin, I would also suggest a visit to the Museum of the Wall, also known as the museum at Checkpoint Charlie. This exhibit, is not well known, but was well attended when we were there. It depicts many of the ways people undertook to escape from behind the Wall, including a modified car, lots of pictures and exhibits including the famous hot air balloon. Desperate people were more than imaginative in finding ways to escape to freedom. There are 3 floors and you need plenty of time to see it. Another highlight in Berlin is the Pergamon Museum which has an enormous and beautifully restored portion of the Wall of Babylon - the Ishtar Gate, if I remember right. Berlin was beautiful in early October last year.
